The Importance Of Fans In Music Business

If you ever worked in a customer service job you are familiar with the term “The Customer is #1″.  As a Music Artist your fans are your customers and its very important that you learn to value your listeners whether you have one or one million.
The best way to keep your fan-base loyal & growing is through genuine engagement. Don’t always push your music, shows , and merch in their faces every 10 seconds. The best salesman understands the importance of relationships because it leads to more sales. It’s hard to grasp the fact that once you start to pursue a career in music you’ll have to understand the mind of a great salesman and the importance of analyzing your customers(fan-base).
Lets take a look at one of the most successful (yet annoying) musicians in the industry right now , Justin Bieber. Justin’s fans are like a cult ; they can be seen on just about every social network mentioning his name every 5 seconds. Justin Bieber has a laundry list of haters but the main reason he remains successful is because he truly values his fan-base. On and offline , Justin Bieber is always showing love and engaging with his fans like they are his best friends and in return they support him on a massive level. Your fan market might not be as large as Beibers but they can become highly supportive of you and your brand movements if you can genuinely engage with them. As an Artist you want to touch your fans hearts and that connection will lead to monetary support. Always remember to be down to earth , innovative , and professional when coming up with news way to engage with fans and your music career will be on the right track.

FAN BASE = INFLUENCE = NET-WORTH
